I'm looking for the smallest fast zoom lens for my ancient 300D. I guess it will be between Tamron and Sigma because Canon's offerings are large. I've never seen or held a Tamron or Sigma in person but from pictures online they look smaller. Are their fast zooms as small as the kit lens?

I'm sure they both make great fast zooms and differences are nil so it doesn't matter with me. This will just be on my "throw around" camera when I don't want to lug my 30D.

tamron. the 28-75 and 17-50 use 67mm filters.
