Well it seems like everybody on the entire retail planet is backordered on these things. Anybody know where I can find one?

They are a great head. I have had my 488RC2 coupled with a set of 3021BPro legs and I'm very impressed with the combo.

you can find one at b and h or at amazon. I purchased my 3021Bpro legs with the 488RC2 head from amazon since it was a little bit cheaper then bh. It was in stock last wednesday, not sure about right now.

Another option, if time is more critical than price, is to get the 488 (no RC at all) and a 3299 Rectangular Plate adapter. I did this and replaced the 488's mounting plate with the 3299's base. Works great.

Yeah theyre pretty good. I researched them on www.resellerratings.com (external link) and they had a better lifetime rating than B&H and Adorama, so I thought why not give them a shot. Im glad I did.

Well one call is out of them too. I have been told that Manfrotto is probably doing a model change over, and that this model number will probably be discontinued, dont know if that means the entire head will be or not. Still Looking.

Dealtime has 3 listed in which each business is listed as having them in stock, but you might contact each of them to check.
