On the camera you just place the Pocket Wizard on the hotshoe.

That is it.

Do you have a second one to go on your flash unit? You may need an adapter there.

Enjoy! Lon

Yeah attaching transmitter to camera is the easy part. They fit right into the hotshoe like a flash unit.

Attaching receiver to flash is where is gets complicated with the various kinds of connections on different flash units.

no I'm good. Just spent 1500 dollars getting sup 383's umbrellas stands and a cokin filter system. If pocketwizards wernt so damn expensive i would have picked up a light meter and a 28mm f/1.8 though.

How many pocket wizards did you purchase?

You can often get buy with only two and inexpensive optical slaves on all flash units except one.

Buy the way what does "sup" mean?

If all you're doing is using the PW as a transmitter to fire strobes and/or flashes, then, as others have already said, you don't need any additional cords. But if you also want to use the PW to remotely trigger your camera, then you'll need a cable to connects the PW to the N3 remote release terminal on the camera.

Your communication style really confuses me.

In studio like conditions (relatively low light) you will only need two Pocket Wizard devices.

One transmitter (or transceiver) on the camera, and one receiver (or transceiver) on one flash.

The other flash units can be triggered with a very inexpensive optical slaves.

I still have no idea what "sup" might mean, can you cut an old human some slack and fill me in?

Enjoy! Lon

He already said it: sup = Sunpack.

You seem to have cryptology skills that transcend mine.

Where have you extracted this information from this thread, I have read it two times and it is blind to me.

If you are referring to this reply "whoops. sunpak 383's. I also bought 3.", how would I even know that copy was even directed toward me?

I am not trying to be obtuse: but I really do not "get it".

Somehow I am reminded of the Saturday Night Live skit with Tonto, Tarzan, and The Frankenstein monster chatting. This is a technical forum not a chat room. Full declarative sentences are all the rage.

Enjoy! Lon
