However, in practice the images are normally downloaded onto your PC by the very act of browsing them - many people are not aware of this and they assume that disabling the right-click "Save-As" will help them. This is not the case. If you check in "C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\" you will find copies of images, cookies etc. that you have recently viewed - whether you used the "Save-As" feature or not. Thats bad though wouldnt it fill your HD quickly? Canon EOS 350D - BG-E3 Battery Grip - Sigma 18-50 - Canon 75-300 USM - Canon 550EX

File save as is so well known these days... people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional

Watermark your pics if they are worth that much to you. I completely agree with the above. However, if you still wanted to go through the javascript route here's the coding... <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.1"> function right(e) { if (navigator.appName == 'Netscape' && (e.which == 3 || e.which == 2)) return false; else if (navigator.appName == 'Microsoft Internet Explorer' && (event.button == 2 || event.button == 3)) { alert("Sorry, you do not have permission to right click."); return false; } return true; } document.onmousedown=right; document.onmouseup=right; if (document.layers) window.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN); if (document.layers) window.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEUP); window.onmousedown=right; window.onmouseup=right; // End --> </script> Bodies :: Canon 5D

Not going to be the best image but still can get a copy of the image. The watermark idea is probably the best idea to protect your image. Something like this. Just an example on the first picture I opened. Obviously whatever title or name you want. My flickr

If someone really wanted to steal the image they can just read the coding and download it straight from the url where it's hosted. Or screenshot it. Pete

Feb 11, 2007 14:43 | #12 If you use netscape, the right click disable is a waste of time. I used to have Netscape and it doesn't work. I saved quite a few pictures that I liked (for personal use). I no longer use Netscape and not sure if Firefox works the same way.

There are scripts out there but evidently they're not free and I'm not old enough to pay over the internet anyway. if anybody knows of a free script for this i'd be really grateful Andrew Bennett.
