Update: We're a week away but looking at 30% chance of rain Saturday night and Sunday. Of course that should change. Either way, dress for the weather. Hopefully the rain will keep the dust down. Got a lot of interest here and on Flickr too. Might be our biggest get-together yet.

geez, suprised Malone isn't in on this one. I'm not sure he really exists in real life.

I'd love to join you guys, but I was just at the RenFair in New York two weekends in a row.

When is the Chinatown shoot?

Sun oct 7th. Tonight at 7:00 infront of RFD's. I don't know if anyone's going to show, but I'll be there. If no one comes, I'm getting sushi.

So how was the Renfest? Sorry I couldn't make it, looking forward to some pics

Yea, I'll tell you guys I'm going once I actually get to the meets... Things keep popping up... Gotta make a few trips to PA this week. There's going to be a helicopter airshow in West Chester I have to go to... hopefully I'll be able to partake in the photos!

The fest was awful hot and you had to cut through the dust with your monopod. We only had three people attend, one had said a few came on Saturday instead to try to beat the heat. I feel sorry for anyone who changed lenses on the fairgrounds - my cameras and lens hoods were brown because of so much dust.

So what does everyone want to do for the next one? I was thinking the park again for some fall foliage however on the weekend I wanted to schedule that (November 3rd) I have a shoot in the morning and then will be meeting with a group of photographers in Patapsco State Park for some Strobist practice. If you are into the whole Strobist lighting style, check them out. The thread is located here:

Would anyone be interested in more of a learning meet-up instead of just meeting at a location and shooting at our own pace? We could do something like studio lighting or product lighting, macro, landscape, composition, Photoshop?

OH stupid me. I was at the MD Renn Fest on Sunday but didn't think to meet up with you guys. Way to hot and crowded. My least favorite year so far.

Have fun at Rotorfest then. Got an overloaded month or I'd be up there for it.

Heres one I pulled out of the pile. Everything taken out in the sun was pretty much rendered useless by the amount of dust in the air. And I'll chalk up the low keepers to trash ratio to the heat.

Anyone else coming?

Charm City Roller Girls are having a Championship match on the evening of October 14th, this Sunday night. I purchased tickets on line for will-call - the page says the previous championship was sold out. You may wish to purchase tickets online as well.

2007 Championship starts at 7pm, doors open at 6. I really recommend getting there as the doors open for a good spot to set up to shoot. Half-time will bring on the debut of the men's league for a 20-minute bout.

Justin, I joined the strobist group on Flickr. I'm pruchasing a setup when I get paid and I think I'll be attending the event on the 3rd. I even have a victim I'm going to try and coerce into modeling.
