For Conowingo Dam, late fall and winter is usually the best time. I hear November is the best. Now if I can actually remember to go at that time.

I too am curious about what lenses are allowed at the training camp.

There are a couple of nesting pair of eagles at Conowingo that are there year round, so there is always the chance to see some. However, the best time to go is between Thanskgiving and Christmas, as there can be over a hundred migratory eagles on any given day. There is also the occaisional Osprey or Perigrine Falcon that wander through the area.

I would hope there are no restrictions for their camp, I've been to Redskins camp and seen people using 600mm lenses.

The Million Moderate March. Anyone going? 10/30/2010? I think I might venture in to DC for a little bit if the traffic isn't bad, but I do have a halloween party to host that night. Should be some good photographic opportunities.

Welcome Quashie.

I'm planning to take (and meet) a group of people to Conowingo Dam on the day after Thanksgiving.

The Arundel Camera Club (meets in Severna Park, MD) is having an overnight Shenandoah field trip in October, night photography in DC in November and a trip to the B&O railroad museum in December. http://www.arundelcameraclub.org (external link)

Hey Quashie, welcome aboard. I'm a member of the Central Maryland Photography Guild (www.cmpg.org (external link)). We meet in Ellicott City. I think our next outing is the MD Renn Fair on October 10th.

Always wanted to hit up the CMPG Ken, too bad CMPG and ACC meets on Wednesday nights. Since ACC meets in a high school there are times we can't meet due to early closings or vacation days. Hopefully I'll be able to stop by and say hi sometime soon.

You only need to pay dues if you want to participate in our photo contests (twice a month) and win ribbons. At $25 a year it's quite reasonable and the feedback you get from judges at contests is valuable. Meetings and Field Trips are open to everyone.

Stop by one night and say hello, private message me here and I'll get you in touch with the people running the field trips. Next Wednesday is a guest speaker talking about professionally matting and framing prints. A contest the next, and then I will be speaking on long exposure/night photography on the 20th.

Quashie - the group is meeting at the Renn Fair at 9:00AM. Just walk up to the folks with all the cameras and introduce yourself.
