Hey All,

I went out and got myself a Chroma Key Green backdrop, did some photos of a model, and now im having troubles etching her from the background. Especially around her hair.

Can anyone suggest a good Photoshop plugin / technique / link that explains how to do this better?

Thanks in advance :-)

Cheers, Jason Cole

You need good lighting and separtion from the background to minimize spillover in the hair. Check out this Russell Brown video for some good tips on extraction.

chromakey is all about lighting....

also place the subjet a good 4-6 feet from the backdrop, if not more.

I dont think you need plugins unless you are making advance masks for stuff like a glass of wine, or like smoke.. Where you are working with translucent objects.

I found a really good Tutorial here:

Tried it too, it seems to work well, but like you said, I need to get the background much more even first! Thanks for your input people.
