Cool. I can't add any data myself but there is the data from the FAQ that would be a good start.

Tommy, after having gone thru that entire thread, the ONLY teleconvertor for which I have almost 'full data' is

Kenko: C-AF 1.5x Teleplus DG SHQ
Non-protruding
4 element
Reporting
(EFS mount compatibility unknown)

OK, I have farmed some information from manufacturer web sites to make up this chart. I would still like to add information if readers can fill in the information blanks for us!

(table superceded by the one in Message 23)

Trying to divert this thread from the Suzy spanking, into something useful...

I think it would be useful for respondents to reply with this precise information about teleconvertors they currently own, so it could be compiled into a single reference table, due to the various models of convertors offered by each vendor!

1. Brand
2. Exact model designation engraved on the telextender
3. Mag power (1.4x, 1.5x, 2.0x, 3.0x)
4. Whether there are any optics that protrude forward past the front (lens) side of the extender's lens mount (protruding/non-protruding)
5. If the extender 'reports' its presence to camera body --e.g. f/5.6 lens with extender is reported as f/8 (reporting/non-reporting)
6. Known to be compatible with EFS mount lens (EFScompatible/not EFS compatible)

This is great,
We can add the resulting Info to the T-Con faq on first page,
Also, notice that I am trying to get more info on compatibility between Canon T-Cs and Sigma lenmses in another sticky at the top oif this forum.

So. now we have three threads all trying to achive the saem thing. that is compiling as mucgh info on TC's as possible.

I'd like permission to merge all this pertinant info from some of these posts into one thread again.

I've been doing this off and on with the original T-C FAQ thread, but it needs another good cleaning.

Wilt some of the info you seek may already be buried in the TC FAQ.

How about we break it down like this.

TC FAQ thread gets reduced to ONLY the finished product.
2nd thread, including the info gathered here, the info in my "Sigma thread, and the other bits of info in the FAQ thread all get combined into one thread as part of the "info gathering process"

Let me know if this is agreeable and I'll make the changes.
The "FAQ" will then get locked to leave it with only finished product, and these posts above combined with the other info will remain as the "Info gathering thread" until a new finished product is made to go into the FAQ?

Make sense?

I'd be more than pleased if you added my Table eventually to the sticky thread! I have read the other threads first, and I had found that the information was lacking for what I wanted (telecon that does not protrude; but I had to find photos of telecons on the web to know if they protruded!)

Thanks, you guys. No spanking required. You are all too helpful. The table is informative. I needed to see it this way, it helps me. :)

Sorry Wilt, Web is right, Sigma 2X is 6 elements. My mistake.

Also both Sigma's will report there presence to Canon DSLRs under most circumstances.

CyberDyneSystems,
Here is the updated chart on teleconvertors. It seems that no one has anything to offer about any of these teleconvertors, apart from what I had gotten from one or two contributions and what the manufacturer web pages had about them! :( Feel free to post this to your sticky on teleconvertors.
