The first image is so interesting that the caption almost trivializes it. Some times a picture is worht a thousand words and no more. But then, that is a lesson which I have never learned.... sigh....:oops:

I really like the processing on #2. As for #1, it is not apparent to me that those are headstones in the background without your commentary. I think it would be more effective if they were a little more in focus so as to be recognizable. I am not saying sharp, just a little more recongnizable.

I like the two shots together - and without the shot on the right and queenbee's comment, I'd have never noticed that the stumps in the background of the first shot are actually headstones. Love the PP!
