i think these are awesome. they are amazing machines. my uncle works for union pacific. i want to get up near tahoe this winter and take a picture and print it 16x20 for him.

I don't even like train shots but these are fantastic. 1 and 3,

1. because the contrast and the snow on the trees look fantastic.
3. because the lights coming from the flashers shooting like beams of light. Must have been a bit of fog or something, i shoot night lights all the time, never had them pop like that.

Glad this post was brought back to the top, I'd never seen it before. They are brilliant shots, I'm just sitting here wishing I was there, it really is amazing.
Hard for me to pick a favourite but I love number 8 with the icy water in the foreground.

#8 the BN jordan plow is my favorite. I loved it when I saw it on railpictures.net a few weeks ago.

i do have one thing to say, be careful near the tracks. a friend of my uncles was killed working on the tracks last week, amtrak train and man doesnt mix well
