Need a reflector

Anyone have any suggestions for a gold reflector? My sister was extremely generous in buying me the ' Beginner Bee ' lighting setup and now Id like to have a gold reflector to fill in the shadows. Are there ones that are less expensive that will get the job done?

I've read on this board that some people use a large rectangular automobile windshield sunshade. I've seen them in reflective silver and gold pretty cheap.

Thats what I was looking for but all I could find was silver. Guess Ill need to look harder. Thanks.

Foamcore board spay painted with metallic gold paint.

Gold foiled mylar gift bag and Foam Paper and ducktape.

Just:

• Cut the sprayed foam core into various pieces with a straightedge and a razor knife (or single edge razor blade).
  
• Apply duct tape to the "line" where it was cut.
  
• Fold the sections up, the duct tape acts as a nice hinge.
  
• Done. It is now compact (and light and inexpensive).

I have two of them.. silver on one side dolphins on the other.. cost about five bucks and I like them better than the traditional reflectors that i've spent thirty bucks on... What about some gold spray paint?.. If it doesn't work you're only out ten bucks..

There's a good suggestion above about using duct tape, but the Photoflex collapsible disks are not that expensive and are extremely portable. They come in silver or white on one side and gold on the other.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I love DIY projects so right now thats what Ill go for but in time Ill probably get the Photoflex ones.

Photoflex ones are like $25 (flexi-fill style).

You could hardly make one for this.

May I ask why you want a gold reflector? As a generic reflector, white is going to give you the softest, most even light. Remember, the purpose of the fill, whether powered light or reflector is to return some light back on to the shadow side of the subject. I would suggest you try the most basic thing and use a piece of white foam core board. I tape mine right to a lightstand and I believe the board cost me about $4 because I got the board that is white on one side and black on the other so that the black side faces towards the lens and does not return or reflect any light back into the lens. It works great!
