I am needing a beginning set of studio lights. I am currently shooting in what should be my breakfast nook but hmmm my "hobby" has turned into something that now brings in an income and I need to buy studio lights. During the day I have GREAT natural light but unfortunatly I am not always shooting during day time hours and I am sometimes wanting a different effect that I know I can get with lights. What is a good starting point? Any places that offer a good inital package that I can always add to in the future?

Thanks in advance for any help

In addition there are multitudes of posts in this forum about these and other inexpensive flash units that can be used for studio work.

Enjoy! Lon

A good starting point would be either Alien Bees or White Lightning. Both made by Paul Buff. These are very good products and super customer support. The AB 2 lite starter is about $600 and goes from there. Check out their web sites.
