Hi all,
I have a G7, and i am pleased with its image quality. If i want to have higher iso shots i just take my 20D...

BUT i have a question, when i want to make flashed photos with the G7, there is a serious lag between pressing the shutter and firing the flash....(and actually taking the photo)
Only when using flash, without flash i have a better shutterlag...

Is this normal?

Greetings

The Pro1 exhibits a slightly increase in shutter lag for flash photography, either with the internal or an external flash. It is due to the extra time it needs for the pre-flash and to perform E-TTL metering. The extra shutter lag is almost unnoticeable and considered normal. Probably the same applies to the G7.

Yes, it seems normal for the G7, about 0.2 seconds in my case.

Yes, it's sick, and the main reason I hardly use the camera like I had intended.

Having turned off the 'red eye' preflash, I am dismayed by the G7's delay in firing a 550EX both manually and automatically. Has anyone tried the newer 580EX? This matter aside, it is a lovely camera to use.

Here's a shot using the 580ex, and yes there is quite a delay in firing for some reason.

edited to add, and yes, it is a BIG flash for such a small camera, lol, but you can use it if needed.
I may take it on trips but normally I don't use a lot of flash photography anyways.

Umm..He's Sick, My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious……
