For glare there's only one solution. Unless if you really can't do (when finish line is like it is on your 4th photo, position yourself so, that you are not shooting straight into sun. If you would turn for 90 to 180 degres glare wouldn't be problem anymore. But this of course means finding different spot to shoot. But at least on cycling races (as I said finish line is different) this is not so hard to do.

Nice shots. Any crashes? I crashed my road bike last week and broke my right collar bone. No riding and no photography :(

A polarizer would fix the glare but cost you a stop to 1.5 stops.

I've shot a bit of bicycle racing and am now affiliated with the Kalyra Women's Bicycle Team. I am fortunate to live right in the middle of some of the more popular bicycle training camps in the Buellton, Solvang, Los Olivos, Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez area. The Amgen (or whatever we are calling it these days) will come right through this area. Over the last month it has been common to see the major teams riding together as we go to the grocery store or out to Lompoc to Home Depot. Last year I was riding along Santa Rosa road and had a team car drive alongside and offer me water at my usual lolling pace of about 10 mph ... and then his team whizzed by us ... Verizon I think ... and he smiled and took off. All the teams are very cordial to the locals on bicycles. Now all I have to do is learn how to shoot as good as you and I'm set! :-)

Bomber, sorry to hear that. Get the best orthopedist you can find and make damned sure that 8-brace is tightened correctly. I had a highly recommended orthopedist and yet I'll never be able to sleep on my right side again (broke the thing 13 years ago).

All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?

Very nice shots. Really like all of them but the first shot is really fantastic. Nice work.
