Spent last two weeks researching this forum and net and I still do not have answer to a very basic question: which shoulder bags will fit canon 30 d with grip and attached 70-200 mm f/2.8 lens with hood reversed plus 2 other lenses?

Will all the below listed bags meet this criterion?

1. Lowepro Nova 4 AW
2. Lowepro Stealth Reporter D300 AW
3. Domke F-3X
4. Crumpler 7 mln dollar

I live in the middle of nowhere so I do not have access to any photo stores.

Will appreciate any help you can offer,

m

What 2 other lenses? With the Domke F3 it may make a difference.

The Lowepro Slingshot AW 300 will probably work as long as the other two lenses aren't huge. It's designed specifically to hold a DLSR with a grip and long lens.

Jon,

Typically I would also carry 17-40 f/4L and 24-105 f/4 L, but on other occasions it may be 50 f/1.4 and 100 f/2.8.
---------------
Mark,

I have Slingshot AW 200. It barely fits 30d with 70-200 f/4. Just barely. It definetely does not fit my brand new:D 70-200 f/2.8. I did look into Slingshot AW300 but there are three reasons I decided against it:

1. I found slingshot not as easy as I thought for fast change of lenses(which I had to do FAST-like between two dog races). I need somthing I can access very easily.
2. I do not like new in AW 300 attached and not removable waist belt. How do I sling the bag with this belt on?
3. I am a girl. I have breast  and slingshot front strap is not in very comfortable place for me!

---------------
I am also going to get lowepro AW75 for just occasions when I carry one camera -one lens and kata 103 for travel with my laptop.

The specific question I am trying to get answer to relates to VERY EASILY accesible shoulder bag for times when I do not need to carry whole bunch of lenses.

I have BIG Pelican 1514 with dolly for storing all my lenses and cameras and also Pelican 1450 for canoeing.

I am trying to find the smallest bag which will be big enough for eqipment mentioned in the title. I looked at all photos of bags with equipment shown on this forum but noticed that in majority of bags people do not have zoom lenses on the camera body. I do know which backpacks will easily work, but, I would really prefer shoulder bag.

Thanks again. I am sure this question was already asked and answered. Just could not find it after seraching and searching and searching again. So, please do not get inpatient with me.

Sorry,

I didn't think about the breast thing. I've used the Lowepro Stealth Reporter D300 AW and it works quite well with the 70-200 f2.8L mounted on my 1DMKIIN, though I wouldn't call it the most confortable or easily accessible bag. Good luck with your search.

I see you prefer a shoulder bag but since you mention backpacks as well, have a look at my pictures of my 'Tamrac Expedition 5' which may be too big for you, but comes in a smaller size, (Expedition 4) has a 5 year guarantee and a built in 'Breast Avoidance System' that you might like since the straps are curved with a center strap that adjusts where the main straps lie. I can get all the gear in my signature into the '5', plus my 77-200 4L. Since I was using my camera and one lens to take the pics, I put my Fuji S9500 on top of the 70-200 lens to give you an idea, you can see how your camera will fit into the case, all compartments are adjustable with velcro that wont move once you have set the gaps you need. and the main zip has a waterproof shield to keep things dry, you will have to check if the '4' has this seal, the flap has see though pockets and the front of the bag has another three which house the 'Battery management system' has ha, you put the batteries in them. there are endless add on pockets and pouches available, plus it will carry a tripod, although I wouldn't care to try it with my 055pro. hope this helps.
regards.

Then I think the Domke F-3x wouldn't do well. Putting three fairly large-diameter and longish lenses in there would be just too crowded for easy use. If you were just using the 70-200 and two primes it'd be fine. In the Domke line you'd need to move up to a larger bag altogether; maybe the F-4AF or F-6.

It might be a little too big, but the Tamrac Pro 12 might work for you. I have the Pro 8 and loved how my 20D w/ 70-200 f/4 fit. Now that I upgraded to a 70-200 2.8 IS, I too am looking for a new bag.

I mean vs. just reaching into a shoulder bag. It looks like this bag has to be taken off first, right?

I can speak to the 7 Million Dollar bag, yes, it fits the criterion.

I have a 7 Million dollar bag and it fits my 30D+grip+70-200 2.8, 24-70 and either 16-35 or 100-400 just right, with plenty of room in the side pocket for CF cards, extra battery, lens pen, etc.

If I don't bring both big white lenses, (i.e. 30D+ 70-200, 16-35, 24-70) I can also squeeze in my 430 flash. If you could wait until after work today I can load up the bag and snap a pic for you.

40D, 30D, 16-35L, 24-70L, 24 1.4L, 50 1.4, 70-200L, 100-400L, 430EX, G9
3 camera bags, tripod, CPs, chocolate lab assistant
and a lot less $$$ in the bank account... but learning a ton here and having a darn good time!!:)

I have a Slingshot 200 which will take a 20D with a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 and a Sigma 18-50 f2.8EX and an 85mm f1.8 and a speedlite 430ex. 4 filters, a charger, spare batteries and a partridge in a pear tree. The 70-200 f2.8 can be mounted or in its case. The slingshot has no compartments in it. I fitted the case from the Sigma 70-200 in there. Pretty small to bring and can make quick changes too. Also a Sigma 1.4 EX TC :)

I use the LowePro Micro Trekker 200 and it does a great job. In the main compartment I carry my 30D, 50mm, 85mm, 17-70mm and 70-200mm lenses, and a 580EX flash. I still have tons of room for all my goodies in the front and side pockets.

The bag can be configured to have the camera and any of the mentioned lenses attached to the camera and ready to go. The lenses all have the hoods reversed. I got it for about $70 and it is serving me very well. The only reason I would need to upgrade is it I either started carrying a second body or more specialty lenses.
