Does anyone have experience with Nixvue Vista to store D10 data while on extended trips, rather than burn CD's or carry large CF cards? Any lesser expensive options to Vista?

I have a Nixvue Digital Album, which is the same thing except it doesn't have the view screen. I highly recommend it. On my trips, I download maybe 1/2 a gig or more each night. I've found that I can do this without recharging for a week or so - I don't even bring the electric cord anymore.

I have used the 30 gig Delkin Picture Pad (same thing only black instead of silver) and have had very few problems with it in the past 20 months, except battery life, but that was solved with a AA battery pack.

Record to date has been 13 gig of 10D images from my trip to Jamaica. Cheaper then 13 one-Gig CF cards.

Only note is: It is my understanding that the Nixvue version may not have support for 10D RAW viewing, but I know the Delkin version does with the latest firmwear. If I were you I would confirm you can view the RAW files on the Nixvue version first or get the Delkin if you go that route.

If you don't want the view capability the lots of cheaper options open up.

Just my experience,

I purchased one when they first came out, it didn't work too well. I hope the newer models work better.

Hi Jalafata,

I used a nixvue vista with my D60 for a week long holiday in scotland. So long as you have somewhere to change it every day then it is a lot easier than taking a laptop. Checking the nixvue site shows that it does support the 10D.

Best regards

I used a nixvue vista for a two week vacation in Alaska. Shot raw with my D60 and had no trouble with downloads or viewing. I recharged everynight, but not sure that I really needed to. I carried two 256 cards and just downloaded to the vista as I filled them up. I did not lose one picture in the two weeks and I shot about 4000 pics. The file system they use is a little complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it is not too bad.

I've got the Vosonic X-Drive II. Bought it without a HD for € 90.-- and bought a 40 GB Fujitsu drive for € 110.--. For downloading to my PC it has a USB 2.0 connection. Works great.
