Those are horrible. I don't know what "banding" means, I will look it up. I'm sure you'll work it out, good luck.

I have had the camera about a year and so far no banding issues. I do have a tough time keeping the sensor clean though. I moved up from the gawdawful 10D.

Les, I boiught the lnes and sensor cleaner stuff here. Great company, very good customer support and the products are excellent. I used the sensor cleaner on my 30D and the results were stunning!

Thannks Joe,

I have one, but for some goofy reason all my issues seem to be adhesive in nature <doh>

I have about 200.00 wrapped up in sensor cleaning crap and none seem to work everytime. I can't tell you how bad I want to open the shutter and blast the crap out of it with some canned air.... But I dont want to replace any thing.

If you are shooting for cash I would highly suggest becoming a member of CPS and get that camera in for a lookee. Send in a few prints along with a letter too.

Nevermind on the CPS...I got the email from Canon.

I spoke with a tech at canon and he said this was not a common problem. He said it is on a case by case deal. He told me that even if I spoke to 100 people who had this problem...it would be less than 1 percent.

Just got off the phone with B&H. They are shipping me one overnight with free shipping. Very helpful customer service.

That's way cool for BH to send you a replacement so quickly. BUT, I'm not sure... are they sending you a brand new 1D Mark II N camera or a new replacement lens? I thought your issue was a sensor. ??? Sorry if I am being thick here, I am just not sure what you are talking about now. Inquiring minds want to know.

I had mine 8 weeks and after my first wedding I noticed banding at ISO 800....and I did tests for 4 weeks and didn`t want to think my baby had a problem...then I caled Canon and was told by the tech I shouldn`t be having these problems and sent it in...Today I got a E-mail saying it is being shipped back to me,I should get it tommorow I`m hoping this will solve the problem...I can`t wait to see what they did to it to correct the problem

It's good to hear that Canon US are more helpful than in the UK. I finally got an email back from Canon UK yesterday after a week informing me that noise is normal when using higher ISOs. My original message to them made it very clear that I knew all about acceptable noise, and that my issue was to do was noticeable banding across the image. Rant over... :-)
