These are interesting. I tend to prefer the black and white ones. Have you thought of doing the same thing with a darker background? When I look at them, something in me wants to see them contrasted against a dark background.

Thats an idea, I only had white paper to hand, I'll photoshop the first pic and see how it comes out! :)

Nice idea and use of natural materials ;). I was almost silly enough to ask how you stacked them, but then i used my brain and reread the title :D!
