I would have been ready to kill by friend even though it wasn't really their fault. Keep your zippers done up or somethin important is sure to fall out.

Yikes... Since I heard some of the horror stories here I check my bag about 100X a day when I have it with me to be sure it's zipped.

It's true. Actually, I didn't drop it. My BIL did when he was helping me empty the trunk of the car. He grabbed my Mini-Trekker, and it was partially unzipped. A lens fell out, bounced a couple times on the garage floor, and rolled under the car.

Now I guess you know I carry some pretty expensive glass in that bag including my 50mm f/1.2L. My 24-105L is in there as is my 16-35L.

We finally fished the lens out from under the car, and it turned out to be my Thrifty Fifty. I guess that's why it bounced so many times. Anyway, I just took some test snaps with it, and it seems to be just fine.

I am now going to go change my undergarments.

OH CRAP!!!

My worst nightmare. Glad it was that lens and not my 300!

I would have had to change my entire outfit and would probably have needed a breathing treatment as well. Thank heavens it wasn't any of the good glass.

Maybe you should start wearing the latest in "astronaut underwear" for those long photo road trips. I hear it's good for at least 900 miles.

Well, given Belmondo's (ahem) position in life, I'm sure he's already familiar with those "undergarments" found in the "special" aisle at the local grocery store or Walgreens.

I kid, I kid...

:p ;)

Hey...those are supposed to be disposable, but I've never disposed of one yet.

I always lose them first.:o :o :o

Damn it - I'm nervous enough when changing between two $1,500 CAD zooms - then I read this thread, and for sure now, I'll be even more nervous and likely drop both of them.;)

When did voluptuous become voluminous?

Ls are pretty resiliant to drops. Not surprising considering the build quality. Try it!

True!

But I consider "your" 300, "my" 300. Remember? You were going to give it away since you don't use it and you like me best?! ;)

Wait....I thought I was going to give it to one of the women. They always seem to smell so much better.
