has anyone tried to use the Canon trigger with the Sigma flashes? I know I have seen some people that have have been able to use a 580 as a master to the Sigma DGs, but never seen anyone be able to use the ST-E2 to tirgger them. I know the Sigma's are "compatible", but just how compatible is the question. I am using wren triggers now, but would like to stop using a camera flash to trigger if possible without having to use wizards.

thanks

I don't have the ST-E2. But I have read that users (from other forums) of this combo claimed that they work fine together. As far as how "compatible" they are, I'm not sure.

I tried firing a 420EX (slave) from the sigma 500 super (master, on-camera) and it gave inconsistent results. Sometimes worked well, sometimes the 420 went off at full power. sold the 420, got a second 500.

So David, I am guessing based on your comments that the Sigmas are responding to the relatively the same signalling that the Canon uses. It would be cool if I could borrow one before I bought one. Maybe I will give eBay a try and see if I can pick up a used one cheap. I already have 3 Sigmas and was looking to pick up some used Canon 550s. It would be cool if I could fire them together. Thanks for the response.

I bought a set off ebay of one of the chinese made triggers and two of the receivers and am using the 550 Super flashes and it works great. Will trigger both of them perfect from the transmitter off the hot shoe on the camera.
