Hey real quick I was just wondering whether I could use my Macro ring flash in place of the regular speedlight flashes? It seems that it would be more than powerful enough, so that mabye I could just fabricate some sort of bracket?

I don't have a speedlight but I have the Macro ring. Thanks for the help.

Sure, you can use it with one of the Macrolite adaptors. Those, I believe, come in 52mm, 58mm and 72mm sizes. So any lens you use the MR-14EX with will have to accept a filter in one of those sizes.

Jon,

I don't think that Canon do a 77mm Macrolite. You could have one made independently though.

You could use a 77mm-72mm step down ring: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …EG&addedTroughType=search (external link)

and then the 72mm adaptor. The adaptor is going to further step down to 58mm I believe, so if you want go very wide be prepared for some vignetting.

I believe I read the Sigma one does upto 77mm but I could be wrong. Doesnt help if you already own the Canon one though.
