I use both the 35L and the 24-70L pretty regularly. Depends on what/how I'm shooting.

Can add to my statement that I almost never used the 24-70L after i bought the 35L. Used the 35L maybe 95% of the time. Only time i used the 24-70L was when i needed more wide angle, so i bought a cheap tokina 17/3,5 as complement instead.

for me it's a budget thing, keeps things sweet with her in doors so if I made the bold move then the 24-70 would go..

I prefer to shoot nature / landscape etc so my 17-40 is important to me.. Might be that I just trade up my Sigma 50mm 1.4 - kneel down for the rest and pick my self up a 35 L :p

mind sharing how did you get that kind of 'mood' for the pictures? (the vintage mood style I guess). presets in lightroom? or if manually, how would one achieve the same effect? (saturation, contrast, etc.) thanks!

Agreed. It reminds me of the tones I used to get with color film. I'd love to know how that's done.

Wow. You guys got snow, we got freezing rain which turned into a LOT of ICE!!! It's snowing right now--straight sideways as I look out the window. So it's going to cover all the ice and make things even worse.

This is really bad. And it looks like you're not going anywhere anytime soon! Take care and be safe.

airfrog, greetings from Hoffman Estates!
We got quite a pummeling!
It was actually thundering & lightning when it was snowing last night. I wished I could have taken photos because it was so eerily beautiful.
