Mario ... you're one funny guy :-)

I agree with you on all that customer blindfolding BS that happens. I always challenge it just for fun, even if only with a look. Sometimes you will get some feature list BS reeled off and it is always fun to ask how feature X or Y will improve my life (or photography) and watch the person go into melt down ... but I am always kind: I don't like to see shop staff suffer too much. I mean, they have to work in a shop all day and deal with smart ass customers :-)

That would make Faux and Ersatz word for Fake.

Of course in the UK sticking the letters EQUE (as in Diamondeque) on the end of a word tells you that it is worthless cr*p.

Here's another one - using the word 'issue' when you really mean 'problem'.

I have no issue with that :-)

Describing a problem as an "issue" is better than calling it an "opportunity"

Ok, let's start this wonderful holiday (U.S.) with another word.

WE.

When used out of context, WE really means YOU. (i.e., your lead photographer says "I think WE should walk over there to the high point and take a photo of the whole area" Immediately after completing the sentence, he is already sitting down, staring at you.
He really meant 'Get YOUR arse up there, and click the button'. (Spouses are really good at this stuff, "why don't WE wash the cars, shouldn't WE take out the trash, WE need to spend more quality time with the kids, etc)

That does not bother me as much as the fact that those people actually think they are pulling some kind of Jedi mind trick on you, coercing you to do something against your will, and yet making you feel the true spirit of team work.

Ahhh. I feel so much better !!... Wonder what I will have for breakfast.

The same goes for sports teams. When a fan is being interviewed on the local news, the fan replies with something like "We really has a good lead at the beginning, but we lost it in the end".

Excuse me - you were watching on the T.V.

Yes, and the overweening pride when "our" team wins the championship! Right, like we were on the field for all the practice and games.

I hate the word MINT.

My camera is in MINT Condition.

As in the Candy? Then it must be sticky, bumpy, and with dirt sticking to it.

Wait a minute. MINT as in money, the printing and making thereof? Well, I have a few worn, scratched and bumped coins that I sure as heck hope look nothing like a MINT camera. And a Dollar bill that I would not use, because it looked like the National Hepatitis C convention had taken place there.

MINT. WTF, Mate. Just say like new, no scratches, pretty good. we get it.

Ah but when your coins were newly stamped at the "mint" they were in "mint" condition. It is not until the coins go into circulation that they get damaged and the notes get that light dusting of cocaine.

Redundancy / Retrenchment now they can be pretty nasty words

The best (worst) use of the word 'Mint' is usually on ebay when someone describes something as 'mint' and then goes on to say it has a couple of marks on the bottom or something...

OK, I don't post much here, but I have to get in on this one.

"Comprised" doen NOT mean the same thing as "composed".

My 20D, lenses, and flash comprise my camera gear.

My camera gear is composed of my 20D, my lenses, and my flash.

Thanks, I feel better now.
