I'm looking to replace my old Epson 1270 and so far my research has led me to the following conclusions. I'm looking for people who have recently purchased an A3 printer to see if my research is correct and if there are any other factors that led them to make thier final decision together with are my thoughts correct

Epson 2400
Pros - The current benchmark for A3 quality, long life ink, excellent B&W

Cons - Cost, high cost of ink esp if changing from colour to B&W, some hint of nozzle blockages, not quite so good for colour gloss

Epson 1800
Pros - High quality, good gloss colour prints, cheaper than the 2400

Cons - B&W not so good as the 2400, doesn't use the long life inks some hint of nozzle blockages

Is my summary correct or have I missed anything out.

Canon Pixma 9000

Pros - High quality colour gloss prints, cheaper to run than the Epson

Cons - Doesn't use long life inks, B&W not as goo as the Epsons

HP B9180

Pros - Very high quality B&W. Doesn't need the ink flushed when changing from colour to B&W. Long life ink

Cons - Inks are expensive. Not quite so good for colour gloss. Some initial concerns over reliability and pizza wheel marks on prints

Agree on the R2400. Color gloss looks great. Brilliant black and white, no nozzle problems, cartridges too small.
