At least we found some happy survivors:

Okay okay, you probably figured it out, it was a movie set, but it was pretty cool.

Here, they are refueling for a second shot. Take note of the guy's jacket.

How did you get on the set? I like the photos, but they could use a contrast boost. They're a bit flat and dark.

In Vancouver, it's usually a set :P

In reply to Jess' question about how you got on set. A lot of movies are filmed in public parks, which I beleive can't legally be closed down in Canada. So basically they have a lot of security to keep you away from equipment, but they can't do squat to keep you away from the set and/or taking pictures. Actually security guards can't do squat here anyway, they have less rights than civilians...

Oh, by "can't be shut down" I mean you can't pay the city/province/country to shut them down. They do get shut down every once in a while for public health/saftey reasons. Like Stanley Park got shut down after a storm when a lot (most) of the trees fell, of where I live a park got shut down because someone had dileberatly hidden needles in the playground. But a citizen or company can't rent a park and expect for it to be kept clear of other people.

The crew was pretty nice to the public, they had an area setup where people can watch it, answered questions and all. But I didn't catch what movie this was though.

Regarding the contrast, that was just like that at the location. Smoke in the air plus an unclear day does that. But contrast was boosted in some of these already.
