So, you 30D owners(I have two, plus a 20D)...if you don't have either a 5D or a 1D mkIIn, which one WOULD you want to add to your bag.

I've read all the comparisons, comments etc. on both. I know the advantages of both. I'm looking for a quick "head count" as to who would want what. I'm torn between the two because I honestly see that I could use both for my style of shooting - sports, events, portraits, weddings, etc. I just about do it all in one way or another. Now, I know someone's going to say, well, get both. If it were that easy, I wouldn't have posted this.

Fire away.

when i had my 20ds and my 30d it was driving me crazy on which to have 5d or 1dmk11n so i tried both fell in love with both but prefered the full frame over the 1.3x crop so went for the 5d

maybe you should have done a vote - makes things clearer to see.

but yea, i would get the 5D. full frame is just appealing.

I tried the vote thing...but not sure how to add the question. The additional comments help as well.

Two different beasts for two different jobs. Id say 5D since the only thing I see in your post that would warrant a 2n is sports. The other three would call for the 5D.

Going Fullframe with 5D is great opportunity if you dont shoot fast moving subjects.

I shoot sports in addition to other events for my full time gig....thus the 1D being in play. very tough call...

The 2n would cover sports but wouldnt be as good as the 5D in the other categories. That is a tough one. Which do you shoot most? I get that you shoot all of those but try to think which you shoot most. That would make me decide what I needed as opposed to 'wanted'.

Now I got both the 1D MK IIN and 5D but if I had to choose which one to keep I would have to base it on what I shoot most and then the 1D would win because I like to shoot action and try to shoot birds in flight so I would need the speed.

Then you made the right choice. Im just trying to establish what the op shoots more of, then go after the body that fits that need. No doubt a 1D would be a gem to have but if it isnt needed then dont get it. I am wanting to get into sports so I know the 2n (or the next model up) would be what I need. Right now Im working on portraits with my XT to get some money saved up for the 2n.
