Which zoom effect do you like most?

Please vote, even if you just look and don't say anything. Do you like the as shot with no zoom, or one of the zoomed images?

Zoom effect 3 crosses the inside boundary within the circle, not a good thing? I concentrated hard on zooming within, without boundaries and the effect stopping a zoom mid-stream.

Would greatly appreciate opinions too. Thank you.

Shot using 17-40 F4L, 0.9 ND Lee filter - F-22, 240 seconds (zoom effect, in and out, started after 190 seconds).

I think the first two are definitely my favorites, but with all the zoom versions, my eyes just kind of think "why they hell is there a giant pink ring in the center of the photo?"

Thanks for the observations.

What "I" wanted was to get a clean full rotation of the lights in the middle. Then I wanted to try the zoom to get the lights to come out from the outside of the circle. It's basically me trying more than just the usual

Maybe this is the WRONG forum to place this kind of thing. If a moderator reads this please will you move this thread to the experimental forum. Thank you.

Mine is for the original, no zoom, great shot. Then zoom #3 (would have liked it better if not cropped so close i think)

My 17-40 turns into a 27mm at the wide end and I couldn't get any further back otherwise I'd be in the middle of the road Maybe time for a proper WA lens or a shorter crop body

I like the simplest one best. PLUS, the central inverted "V" of the wheel caught my eye in the simple ones. That part was a focus of attention. The others were well enough done; they were simply not my personal preference. They did give me something to think about. Thanks for posting them.

I see what you mean about the struts being a point of focus. Maybe if I had a better WA lens and could get the whole of the effect in it might be better. Thanks.

Thanks for comments. I think most people are liking the "normal" type of shot

Next time, if the pink lights are still there I'll try a smaller zoom effect to fit in the frame and see if you like that.

I think these are cool too! Never would of thought of doing this!
Shame on all of you "take pictures more normal" people. Photography and normal aren't words that should go together.
