'Something Else' - The first I knew about it was seeing this thread - Must have been a Thursday, I take my medication that day... :-)

This a great answer, Kevin.

I couldn't see how many viewings it got.

Possibilities

1.It's a pretty complex composition, and some folks just don't like complexity.

2. It needs a baby in it.

3. It needs a girl in a bikini in it. (That, of course, will spare it any negative criticism)

4. It needs a shiny new car in it.

5. It needs a shiny new car and girl in a bikini in it.

6. It needs a shiny new car, a girl in a bikini in it AND a baby in it.

I favor #1, but i just didn't see it.

Modine, sofar your theory is most exhaustive and plausible. Thanks!

I saw the image. I did not find it interesting enough to comment on the first quick look. I like it better after studying it for a few minutes. I guess that when I go to that forum I am looking for something more experimental than black and white. I am not sure why the 2 are lumped together in one forum.

This is a good point Char. I sometimes wonder the same. It can not be so that BW should be linked to experimental, which at least hiddenly is now the case. Should we do something with this?

Well...It struck me more as a 'snapshot' and I didn't want to hurt anyones feelings.

Didn't see it. There is so much action on this forum now that if you aren't around for a day or two you miss a lot!

I saw it. I didn't particularly like it, I didn't dislike it, but I'm not a huge B+W fan either. I also could not give any specifics on how to make it a better shot so I left the comments to others with more knowledge.

Because it was posted in a SHARE forums. When someone "shares" a photo, I assume that that is their intention - to share. I look but rarely add comment because I perceive (rightly or wrongly) that "sharing" is a one way street - a presentation - no more.

If you had posted in Critique Corner, then the assumption is that you are soliciting a response. That is where I feel that engaging in a dialog is welcome.

New reason - Because I am not a big fan of full black and white you should have taken it so that some of the picture was black and white and other was color those are cool pictures. How does the camera do that.;)

This must be the reason for most zero responses, Alan.

Well Rad, there is a lot of responses in all forums, not only in Critique Corner. But surely there are many POTNers who comment mainly on CC forum, and IMHO that is one of the most appreciated ways to spend time here.

Normally, I don't like selective desaturation, but this I like.
