Hello all

Just wanted to share some "Wing action", pics of the Great Blue, I always love images of large birds with thier wings spread; and there are so many beautiful ones (eagles, Hawks, Herons, etc), being posted here constantly; so I thought that I would add to those images with some of my own.

While standing on the shore of Corpus Christi Bay

It's not easy to capture the "right" large bird with wings in action, decisive moments, because lighting also plays a role in how the subject will appear.

Canon EOS 30D, Canon 500mm f4L IS with Canon EF 1.4x II

First up "the leaning tower" I know this is'nt a "wing action" shot, but I just could'nt resist, I had to add this one into the mix.

I tried to see what he/she was looking at.

Great stuff Kidd. I think I'm leaning towards the leaner as my favorite. :)

I wish I had your light up here, just for one day a week. :)

I love GBH shots. These are indeed great shots. The first one is such an interesting behavior shot. Well done.

All great shots kidd, another one I have to tackle this year as last year all I got were the "left in the dust shots"
That first shot is outrageous, never seen them do that before, well done!

Very nice captures. I'm partial to number three with the cooler temps. If you like big birds you should go to Aransas and try for the Whooping Cranes.

Thanks Postiemon, You mean the Aransas Pass here in Corpus, if so; where exactly are they, in Aransas Pass?

Great series Kid! They are all very good but my fav is the touchdown. I, too, enjoy seeing all large birds spread their wings, and to get them in an image is fantastic.
