Close. Opposite side of the valley, on Highway 17. That is the Sangre de Cristo range in the background, I was heading to Great Sand Dunes NP when I took this. (I had to look up South Fork, I was incorrect in my original reply)

^This is great! I love the colours.

I finally had some better weather this weekend and got to really appreciate how sharp this lens is. The wolf photos are shot through a mesh fence and cropped down a touch. I was also surprised at how well it functions as a landscape lens.

I originally wanted this lens but decided on getting the 85mm f1.8 but when i got to the store they didn't have any. So i conviced myself on settling for my original choice the 70-200mm f4l. Boy do I like this lens. Its light compared to my a f2.8 i own for nikon, which makes it easier to handle. It is also really sharp wide open. Both of these snap shots are straight out of the camera. I only cropped them. I can't wait to really put this lens to use.
