If there was more light in the foreground you would see some lines running up the beach to a secure point. There are moorings out there with pulleys...to retrieve the boat you just untie the line and haul it in. When finished just pull the other line and out it goes. No need to get your feet wet!

As Phil said, it has something to do with the tide. We have over 4m of tide here and it's almost out in those pics, so normally the dinghies are further from the shore. It is all extremely practical!

Hi I have a question. Planning to buy this one, I already have 135mm f/2.0L so I want a zoom like this one. My body is 6D. I'm planning to use it on sports.

Anyone tried it in indoor sports? Basketball. Does it do pretty well? I'm calculating right now in the arena where I plan to use it. Before I had a settings of f/2.5, 1/640, ISO 2000 with 7D/60D. Do you think with 6D, I would be able to do the same? With f/4.0, 1/640, ISO 5000? Is my calculation correct? I think even if ISO 8000 with my 6D, I could still do the same. I'm concern with the focusing of the lens and bokeh; not expecting like 135mm f/2.0 and f/2.8 lenses but I've read that for it's specs, bokeh for 70-200 f/4 IS still good. Not really that concern with tha AF and FPS with my 6D. I knew someone that he's using 5D Mark II, still doing great up to now.

In most high school and small college arenas's you will be hard pressed to get 2.8 let alone make an F4 zoom lens work. Primes are much better for indoor sports.

It's not well litted, the last time I shoot there for a proper exposure I get a settings of 1/640, /f2.5, ISO 2000 or 1/500, f/2.8, ISO 2500. I think for 6D I can live up with ISO 8000 or even 10000 for my standard. Do you think 70-200mm f/4 IS can survive with that setup?

I actually have a prime lens, 85mm f/1.8, 135mm /f2.0, 50mm f/1.4. But I definitely need a zoom lens for flexibility but quality in prime is very superb.
