Mar 25, 2017 09:42 | #6079 I bought this lens way back before my son was born in 2009 and sold it shortly after to pay for my drivers license. A couple of years later I bought a 2.8 L IS and sold it last week when I heard that it was taken out of Canons service program. I came across a really good deal on a F4 L IS and I bought it. It also came with a 1.4x II.

It also came with a 1.4x II. I can't believe how light this lens is compared to my 2.8 L IS brick, wow I am amazed. Yeah, I tried my brother's 2.8L IS and it was really heavy. This lens is really nice for travel and extended carry. If you don't need that extra stop then this is a no-brainer - it just flat-out amazing. Mar 25, 2017 15:04 | #6081 Yes it is super light. I like it a lot. I am still trying to decide if I should sell it and make a profit and buy the 2.8 IS II as my wedding season is about to start next month.

NateD Senior Member More info Post edited over 6 years ago by NateD. | I love the lens. I have a 135 F2 for when I need low light ability and shallow DOF, that combo has kept me from lusting after a 2.8 II. I could sell both and fund a used 2.8 II but I honestly think having these two instead gives me better options in a lighter package for what I shoot. Just trying to be better than I was yesterday.
