Does anyone know how reliable the Alien Bee Radio Flash Trigger Transmitters are?

AB offers an on camera transmitter for $39.95. An additional hand held
transmitter $39.95 for use at the subject when taking light meter readings, and a receiver to be placed on the main light, again $39.95.

A totally wireless set up for $120 sounds pretty good, but does anyone know if they are reliable?

I would like to buy these transmitters and receiver to go with a set of
AB 800s that I am about to order if you all have enough positive things to say.

This would be a huge savings over buying a similar Sekonic system that would cost about $450, not including the meter.

Thanks for your input.

I have a set and love them! For the price they work great.

I have been using mine since Dec. and not once have they given me a problem. I have shot around 30k pictures and havent had to change the battery yet. I shoot in alot of high school gyms and I can walk anywhere
and the radio has no problem setting them off.

I plan to order another set soon.

Equipment list:
Cameras: 1DMark2N, 20D w.grip, Digital Rebel w/grip
Lenses: Sigma 24-70 2.8, Canon 70-200 2.8 non IS, 18-55 kit
Flash: Canon 580ex Sigma EF 500 DG ittl
Strobes: 2 Alien Bee AB800 with radio remotes
