What position do you leave your on/off switch on the 5D and why? I tend to leave mine On-dial enabled all the time so that I can just hit the shutter button to wake the camera. Curious what others do?

But when I shoot studio once everything is dialed in I may turn it to on-dial disable to make sure I don't change exposure. 5D | 17-40L | Tammy 28-75 2.8 | 28-135 | 50/1.8 | 85/1.8 | Sony A6000 2-Lens Kit | SEL35 1.8 | EF 50 1.8 on NEX as my 75mm 1.8

If I'm in the field and shooting, the camera is on, Quick Dial disabled until I need to change the settings. Mark

I do change it often to enabled,(AEB or manual) but for the most part default to carrying it not enabled Veni, Vidi, Snappi

Leave it switched on while I'm using it, but if it's being put away overnight or for a few days, I'll turn it right off. That means that while it's in the bag, it can't be woken up if something shifts about and presses the shutter button.

That way I can be pretty sure that next time I use the camera, the battery has a good amount of charge. Agree, i save the battery charge level by turning off the camera while it isn't in use. I see no reason to turn it off since 'off' is really just 'ignore everything but shutter press'. I've never had an issue with bumping the control wheel while shooting, but maybe that's an issue for left eye dominant people.

If i am in using then i keep On-dial enabled, but if i finished my work by it, then definitely turn off. Sorry, maybe I didn't structure the poll well. I was just curious what position people leave their cameras in when it's not in use. Mine has almost always stayed in the on-dial enabled position, even overnight, and even when I'm travelling. This let's me hit the shutter for instant on. I haven't had an issue with battery drain from accidental on yet.
