just downloaded the 30 trial while i wait for the email from pixmantic.this program is still painfully slow for me.

i've loaded 60 raw files in to try it out and every time i click on one to adjust it i have to wait for it to load.if i click off the image and then back on it i have to wait again.

any help appreciated as what i have seen with the beta and version 1 looks very promising so far

@mchivers
What is you computer configuration? CPU, speed, RAM, HD?
Without 2gb of RAM do not think of it.

I downloaded the latest this morning and am running it on a pc with 1GB of ram and it works fine. I find this version might even be a tad faster than the last build.

Things seem to be running fine on my end. I had some initial hiccups when trying to import into library, but all seems to be working fine and smooth at the moment. I suspect that some bugs may have to be worked out between version 1 and Vista. I'm running a core2duo 6600, 2gb RAM, 250gb HD.

Mine is running slow as well, 1 gb of memory, 3500+ Athlon processor. Seems to be gobbling 3/4 of my resources. I am running XP. Don't know if that is the problem. mine also locks up from time to time. The previews of photos take a long time to come into focus.

I have basically the same setup but overclocked to 3.5Ghz and it runs pretty good although another gig of RAM would be nice.

Did you set it up to render standard size previews on import? This will slow down the import but speed up the subsequent access massively.

When I move one of these sliders for the first time there is a very brief (I'm talking nanosecond) delay. Any subsequent moves of them seem to be right on track.

Speed is a relative thing. I too want something that will operate as fast as I can vision it but I have to wonder if we sometimes have set our expectations too high.

My sliders seem to be on. Smooth sailing here. Maybe lags slightly by micro seconds. If you count "slow" as the cursor moving just slightly forward of the sliders. The live view adjust just as fast as I move the sliders. With both LR and CS3 open (including IE7), RAM usage is at 55% and either core rarely exceeds 50% when either program is at idle while browsing with IE7 simutaneously.

Mine sucks!:)
I'm still on a P4/2.8/1gb and it uses about 80% whenever I try to do anything. It works, but you need to a bit patient. It's really time to upgrade...:p
