Cory,

Just FYI, the instructions in your presets list the Mac preset folder as:

Mac
<User Directory>/Library/Adobe Lightroom/Develop Presets/

On my Mac, running v1.0 of Lightroom, they are actually here:

Mac
<User Directory>/Library/Application Support/Adobe Lightroom/Develop Presets/

Could cause some confusion.

Also these LR actions are just text files renamed. Mac and PC files are interchangeable. Mac presets are named AGTEMPLATE and to use them on a PC you can rename them to the *.lrtemplate extension.

Worked for me on Vista.

edit: You can leave the extension as is, but I've noticed if you bang away between a couple presets they get screwy. A 1.1 fix I hope. So rename them to be safe.

AGtemplate is the extension of the beta presets, and it seemed that those aren't able to be installed unless they were preexisting, but I'm not sure.

I have the agtemplate ones installed and they appear to work.

But. Looking at the code in them they are quite different. I also notice that they jumble settings is you click on too many of them (beta ones). Clicking on a Alpha preset resets it.

I think 1.0 users should be wary of the AGTEMPLATE presets. Anyone elee?

where did you get the AG templates from? Most have converted to LRtemplate ones

See the code for brightness:

ShadowlandExperimental_HighlightBrightness = 56.521737575531

Where it should be:

Brightness = 50,

There was also an addition of "internalName=".

From links in this thread. I look in the explorer window and some renamed ones come up green. Delete these ones as they have incompatible legacy code. There were only 5 it appears.

what you might try is loading a image thats zero'd, apply the agtemplate, save the settins as a new preset, and delete the old one.

Thats what I did when this problem first came up and now I resaved them all as .lrtempates

That's the safest route so far.

with lightroom available now, I think it would be great to share some presets. There are some available at www.lightroompresets.com (external link) already, but lets add some more.

All presets are adjustable, and have the ability to add or remove steps. They are non destructive edits, and can be taken back tot he original at any point.

Those outdoor pics are incredible. Which presets do I download to get that look?

Thank you very very much! Hopefully I return the favour when I get a better understanding of Lightroom. :)

Anyone else not have the folder that the presets are suppose to be copied to? When I follow the path to where the Adobe folder should be, it's not there.

Any ideas?
