They usually show lots of understanding.. :D

ahhhh, but my friend you must also realize the value of those p/s too.....! (eg when you see that "perfect" photo for kodak's instant camera, it's because they know how the *camera* works. and therefore, making that product attractive ;) )

otherwise, i'm w/you :)

but aren't you then judging *their* skill level/knowledge by their equipment? just like (on another topic) they're judging you by assuming your skills/knowledge by *your* equipment??

just a thought here.....:)

Actually, this might come as a shock... but that was a joke! I wouldnt call them a Looser.. its not the size of the camera, its what you can do with it that counts!

Well I make my gear very discreet. Whenever I go out, no matter where, it comes with me and I just leave it in my car. If we go to a restaurant or somewhere where it'd be stupid to lug all the gear around, I just bring my P&S and leave the gear in the trunk of my car. If I find a great photo op, I just pop the trunk!

Oh, and I tell my P&S friends to go **** themselves. :)

simply have them take a picture at ISO 800 and compare to a photo you take at ISO 800...

my P&S is my cell phone :) ask em if their P&S can make phone calls! :D

"Excuse me while I fire off 10 shots while you wait for your camera to boot and focus."

After not using my P&S for over a year I sold it to a friend. I am now P&Sless. Don't miss it either. The guy I sold it to is a golfer. He commented that I spend too much on camera gear. I asked him how much he spends on golf and it was this much for green fees, this much for a cart, this much for this and that. I said, "Well, I have a camera and a lot of gear to show for my expenditures." His reply was a better score.
