Hi All,
I just unpacked my new S50 and there is something rattling on the inside!
It sounds like a loose screw floating around. Before I panic and call the vendor, I'd like to know if it may be normal, like maybe an orientation sensor or something. I'm just recharging the battery so no idea if it works or the lens is cracked ?!
Any ideas? Does your S50 make a noise when you move it around?

I don't have the S50, but a friend does, and he has the same thing, and has had for quite some time.
He was also worried in the beginning, but was told it was the orientation sensor, so I wouldn't worry too much about this.

yea, that's what I thought. I've powered it up and it seems fine.
I have tosay though, the rattling noise was startling and lout at first. Also, it seemed to really dance around in there. Now it has settled down and is a simple ping-ing noise. Heck, maybe the loose screw got wedged in a corner
thanks

Couldn't it simply be the orientation sensor, so that the cam knows how you hold your camera? if of course the S50 has this feature?
