Thanks for the upfront answers...

Been looking into glass rentals... that may definitley be the way to go!!!! Any one heard of Ziplens?

If you go this route, maybe pony up a little more money and try out one of the dream lenses, it might make it cheaper for shipping with two lenses. You might as well play a little if you have the chance!

I don't know anything about lens rentals, I thought there were a couple well known ones that make it across this forum and fredmiranda.

I used Resellerratings, and saw only one review for that one. There is PictureLine with a good rating.

Also RentGlass, I think I have heard others talk about this one. $46 for a week on the 17-55, for example. Double that to include the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS!!!!!

I don't think you'll need the infrared remote. You'll want to be with the camera to make sure everyone is smiling and not blinking
The Lens(17-55) sounds good
The Ladder/stepstool, having the people looking up helps to get all the faces, you can get twice the people in a given area with camera elevation
A tripod and cable release
Get your lights higher than the camera
