It was a Lexar 12x 256MB card and there is a 50/50 chance it was the same one I washed in the washing machine

couldn't you have just used '<format>' like the rest of us:rolleyes::D ;)

Nope I had to clean the card :)
Obviously not once, but twice, since I didn't have a washing machine handy I used the river for the second washing.

Actually I suffer from a serious disease called "Absentis Mentis" *

probably why I like using f1.2 a lot since Bokeh is derived from the Japanese word from a related disease.

I also suffer from tripping over my own feet disease which is related.

As a result of these two serious diseases I have lost an eye-piece for my 1DsMkII, 3 or 4 lens caps, washed the CF cards twice, and one of my 7" reflectors for my ABs have a good dent in it (luckily I don't need w/softbox ). If not for the fact that I keep the camera on a hand strap I would lose that as well. I have also forgotten that the spare battery was on my belt and not in the backpack once. It is not a small battery. I also frequently have to hunt around for where I set down my 85/1.2 when doing the head/half body shots for second set of a session, that can be a bit humorous for the model.

This is one reason why I always, always (well mostly always ) check my camera to make sure it is on ISO 100 when I start a studio photo session and use a check list when traveling with more then just camera and some spare CF cards.

I would blame it old age, but I had this problem since I was around 13 and have actually gotten a bit better with age (or I don't notice it as much ). How I survived 20 years in the USAF without getting into serious trouble I will never know.

* = note my latin is a touch rusty so probably messed the suffix. 3-years of Latin and I never could remember the correct endings.
