Hi, my brother is an aspiring model(?sp) and is to be in a fashion show on Friday. My gear that I will be taking is my XTi, 50 1.4, and my 430ex. Any advice on getting good pics. I don't think I will be able to use a tripod so I'm worried about camera shake. Any advice would be appreciated.:)

I'm no expert but here is my 2cents.
- Unless he's standing still use AI Servo to keep him in focus.
- Check with the host of the show to see if a flash can be used. As monopod may be allowed.
- Keep the 18-55 on hand, you may find that static 50mm focal length limiting if the models walk to you and away. Getting a full length shot with 50 needs some distance between you and the subject.
- Custom white balance if you can. Save you post processing time.
-TAKE TEST SHOTS, even if it's shots of people setting up the walkway. It will give you a moving subject in most likely the same lighting as the show.

Good luck and post pics when ur done.

-Michael

Location location location. Set up near an area where the model will be stopping, turning, posing, etc. When the subject stops moving, your sharpest shots will occur.
