580 EX beeping sound

Is it normal to have a very slight (almost inaudible) beeping sound every 6 seconds with a 580EX? .. this is the same sound that is made while the unit is recycling although at a very much lower volume.

Yes, it is just topping up the capacitors to stay "at the ready".

With the new 580 mk. II this question won't be asked on a weekly basis.

we'll wait and see but I just fail to believe I won't be able to hear the flash recycle. I kinda like the whine cause I can tell without looking that the flash is ready. Sure there are other lights and stuff to tell me in the viewfinder, but it's easier to just listen.
