Hi I bought a canon powershot a630 I really love it except for the battery, I would like to know if there are battery chargers for this type of model, I saw one yesterday at our local store it says digital camera battery charger and it's an energizer nimh if I am not mistaken, If I pick this kind of charger would it be compatible with my camera if not any recommended charger will be appreciated as long that it won't mess the camera thanks!:p

The AA Energizer NiMh batteries work great on the A6XX series of cameras. Get a 2500Mah set of AA rechargeable batteries and the charger and you're good to go.

I personally use the Energizer 2500Mah set and the cheapest Energizer charger (large bulky type) and I've had no problems.

Any AA NiMH batteries and charger will work; I haven't run into any problems with a Radio Shack fold-up 8-hr charger (except it's only 110V, so overseas I need a different one). With a couple of sets of NiMH, you'll be good for a good while.

Let's just say that using any old charger for random brands in my A620 gives me over a month of idle time or better than 300 shots, including some video, in my A620 on a regular basis. And I haven't had any AAs, which get used in the A620 and in my various flashes, die on me.

I also have a 630 :)

and purchased two extra sets of the same Duracell batteries. Looks like I really only needed 1 extra set. Their performance has been exceptional - REALLY happy with the purchase ... got them at WalMart to save $$ as well
