Not really. Weather sealing would benefit older 1D series owners, and there is an integrated PC sync port and thyristor autoflash for non-TTL operation. Couple of other small benefits even for us legacy flash owners.

Im thrilled. I want this camera. I really wish it was 12 MP instead, and they kept the 8.5 FPS, since 10 is just FAST. Seems like a bit much, but hey, bragging rights is cool to. 10 MP should do.

Im feeling pretty damn good about my choice in a kit now
30D ( Can still sell for a good price since no 40D)
24-70 (Glad it wasnt updated, then i would have to sell it)
50 1.4 (Great lens)
And decided to wait on my flash (now I can get the latest and greatest)

I agree, this camera will make the 5D less relevant. The only thing the 5D has over the new 1DMIII is full frame (1.3 isn't bad though) and 2.7mp's

So I just got finished reading through the white paper...holy crap! In all my years of being a consumer, this is one of the finest examples of a manufacturer listening to their customers. Well done Canon, now to get one in my hands.

I was too, but should the print size be about the same between 10 and 12?

Fancy putting an old thyristor autoflash mode on it though.

It still fits the old NPE3, BUT they have introduced a new Li Ion one with this model too
Makes it lighter, and might add a lot more shots.

Supposed to go from 1200 shots on the NPE3 to 2200 on the new Li Ion...
