After being lied to that my preorder was shipping to my house next week and I had to pay in full to get it shipped... I went to my other camera store that had my other preorder that was coming in today and is in transit coming from fedex....I called several times and they told me that fedex didn't arrive yet.

So i go ahead and drive down there anyway just to see if fedex will arrive before I do...Once I pull up I see the white Fedex trunk and my eyes open up wide and my heart began to beat faster as I come closer to getting the mk III after waiting so long..

I walk in and asked for my sales person he checked and came back with a smile on his face and tells me "sorry no mark III maybe Tuesday"..Dam this close again...

The wait is driving me crazy and I'm tired of hearing it's coming in any day now..

No camera is worth falling off the wagon for.

Cutting one's wrists? Another matter.

I'm quite content knowing I will probably not have a Mk3 till mid-June at the earliest. By then, they'll be selling for $1500.00:p

Didn't Jerry Seinfeld say "falling on the wagon?"

Good question. Has anyone contacted them and been told their policy on selling the new camera?

???

They said when they have the camera, or when they start taking orders, they will first send out an email to those on the list. Hmmm, actually I am making the assumption they will first send out the email. Who knows, they might just pop it up on their web site and then send out the emails, minutes, or hours later. Canon has kept a really closed mouth about how many per-shipment, who gets them, etc.

The good news, maybe, is that when they shipped out the XTi, there was a huge demand, and within a month or so, they were able to fill all the demand. As I recall, some stores ran out here and there, but if one looked, about a month after the release, they were still available at other places. I would think the M3 has much less demand, number wise, and I also would think they could produce about the same number of cameras per day once the assembly line is running. Maybe the M3 takes a lot longer, I don't know.

They are already a few ones in USA with the camera in their hands delivered by:

Norman Camera (external link): << ---
Adray Camera: (external link) << ---
St. Louis, MO "Schiller's Camera & Video" (external link) <<---
Calumet (external link)<< --
Ritz (external link)<< ----

.....
.....

I have gone to each link and am still not convinced they have them in hand. We have a group here as rabid as anywhere in the world, and not one of us has it yet. Canon says June 1 for USA shipment. I'd believe it more if and when I see some of the long time posters HERE declaring they have one, showing pics of the camera/box and saying more than I saw those folks on those links. They might be legit, but it is just so easy for folks on the internet to say about anything. I don't know the folks on these links and if they are regulars on their own Forum, but I just didn't get the feel that I totally believe them. Cynical, yes, but in the past month I've just heard too much that turned out to be false alarms.

I've been calling B&H once a day. I called them this morning, and I think they're starting to lose their patience with us.

After being on hold for several minutes listening to Gershwin, the salesman picked up and said (loudly), "B and H." He really sounded like he wasn't having a good day.

I asked if they were accepting orders on the Mk III yet, and he answered, "JUNE." He hung up without another word.

After years of buying from them, it's always been a pleasant experience. This was the first inkling of rudeness I've every encountered there.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

B&H is a great place with great folks. This is not bringing out the best in anyone. But if they decide to sell them on say the 29th, then we kick our own rears for waiting until June. I wish they would have accepted pre-orders and told us where we were on that list. It might have saved them a lot of time and effort, and us a lot of worry.

I can imagine why you are so reluctant to admit it but .... it´s a fact, you can not believe it, I can understand it, it´s hard ... :)
I am sorry, Joe ... I hope you get yours soon.
