Great camera, seems moreso pushed towards the sport/wildlife shooters with that fast FPS, also with the 1.3 crop as well.

I'm more interested in the 580ex II that is finally weathersealed (okay only with a weathersealed camera).

don't forget the highlight tone priority and added DR, thats huge for wedding photogs.

This may have already been covered in this thread but I don't think I want to go back through 794 posts to see. Anyway, there has been a lot of hype about the 10 fps, does anyone know what the other frame rate options will be? At that rate I'm not sure I could get my finger off the trigger without popping at least 2 or three frames. That kind of speed won't always be necessary and in some cases it will be just plain wasteful of CF space.

- I hope this doesn't sound negative, it's just an interesting thought to me. I'd love to get my hands on one of these jewels!

I wanna trade one of my 580's for a 580 II. I WANT THE AUTO FUNCTION! I have many cameras that are older than me, and AUTO mode is the only way to get intelligent flash with them. I'm tired of guide numbers and stuff like that.

As I understand it, Canon ships them, and sometimes assigns a "first sale" date. B&H puts them up on the Web site, and may note it as "Accepting Orders" just before they mark it as "In Stock."

In the past, Calumet has had special sales on Saturday or Sunday to enable them to be one of the first to actually deliver them. So if you have a contact at Calumet, try to keep your ear to the ground.

Have Fun,

Rick

I am #6 in line pre-ordered at my local camera store too.

They dont have the exact price yet, but... he said he think the 4k was cheap. He said he thinks its going to be around $4500 at time of release.

He was also suprised to hear me tell him MSRP was 3999? I told him it was in the Canon white papers, but he said Canon is still working on pricing details...

The guy speaking in english has no idea what hes talking about... Saying 10 FPS is the most important aspect of the camera. While leaving out everything else which makes this camera what it really is.
