I have the Wein safe sync. It isn't workingwith My 8 volt studio lights. It may be reducing them too much to fire.

Check with Canon - I really don't think the 8 volts is going to be a problem with your camera.
I presumed from the opening message in this thread that you had a 100-volt trigger voltage or something like that. I forgot about your other thread - there are so many nobody can keep them mentally indexed.
I just deleted my previous copy of this message so that I could make changes without showing "edit", and then I see that you replied to it already.....
Anyhow - to continue - I downloaded a copy of the XTi manual. Page 152 is where they talk about using "high voltage" flash units on the hot shoe. I doubt that 8 volts would be considered "high voltage", but I would strongly suggest getting a written statement from Canon (email at least) defining their specification for max voltage at the hot shoe.
