With stuff that does not move you don't need to be very bright. Right now I use 3 100 watt florescent bulbs in aluminum reflectors. Its not bright at all. But a slow shutter speed makes it alright!. You need a tripod, but you may have already known that.

I know... It's just a problem with my brain trying to over-engineer everything. I may trade those beasties for the $6 150W versions...

Here's yet another homebrew lightbox design with a decent tutorial on building it. I didn't have anything to do with this, just happened upon it.

Nothing fancy, but with a simple umbrella and an 800 Bee strobe I was able to obtain the following results. Please let me know what you think :)

P.S. Click on the images for large size photos.

I like the directional lighting better than the sort we get from a light box. It also leaves room around the subject so you can use white/black cards to control the reflections:

I like the non reflective stuff. But the can has horrible reflections. This is the whole point of a light tent... reflections. Making the light even is only a side benefit.

So I attempted to make a lightbox with the supplies I had in hand but I failed.

I'm using a 10.2MP Samsung L200. The lights are 250 watts halogen worklights. I have the tissue paper on each side but I don't have the trunslucent paper on the top.

What am I doing wrong? All help is appreciated

Try with a bigger box. I had a similar result with my first attempt. Also, You will probably need to adjust your white balance to whiten up the background because the work lights throw a very warm light.

Here's a few from light box #2... I kept with the 500W work lights (just added a bit of distance) and moved to some thick tranclucent craft paper. Could have probably done with a bit of soft lighting fron the front as well...

That Potato Head is too funny!!!! You need to resize it so it can be a desktop!!

The glares off it and the car tells that you are not diffusing the light any. Can you show your set up so we can help?
