cowboylife:

Cool tent...I do see a bit of a red cast to all three product shots you posted. The 40d, the pistol and the "sure fire". Are you shooting JPG? RAW? If shooting JPG did you setup a custom WB shot in the camera?

If you look at the 40d in LR or PS there looks to be a bit of red fringing along the edges of the shadows. I have no idea what causes it but I can see it. I am sure ya see the 40d shot is way off because the body looks reddish-black not a true black. Maybe something red is near by and the camera is picking it up?

Thanks. Just ordered one from the seller.. then I saw the same size for $28.45 when login-out but it's too late.. I guess the $34.95 is not too bad either.

What wattage are you using on those bulbs and what kind of bulbs are they? I have the same setup using three lights with 100Watts CFL Daylight bulbs
purchased at Home Depot for $8.99 for set of 2, very bright.

Thanks for the link.

And here are some experiment shots.

I'm still having some problems with exposure, I still don't seem to get pure white color. For those who have experience with light boxes, what is you technique? I shoot mostly sports/action and I'm ignorant about light boxes.

Do you use a white card to expose correctly? AF or MF? Etc.... I need teh help.

All were shot with 40D w/70-200 f/2.8, and I used mirror lock up on all. Also, no PP applied, these are straight from the camera.

These first two are comparison shots. f/11, ISO: 200, 1/4 SS (with +1 EC)

I did noticed the same thing, but then I thought it was my monitor since it was not caliberated. The colors are way off, may be he needs a white balance setup, I don't think it's the tent.

I think you need a correct manual White Balance settings.

I agree. There's a magenta/red cast and I tried all I could and just couldn't get rid of it. Even when adjusting white balance it was still there. I have a grey card. I'll try putting that in the tent and using that and set it as my white balance. Be back...

I have a similar tent to the Ebay one. It works great. Buy a piece of glass and put in botton and creat custom foam supports and drape the velvet black mat over. Looks great

Thanks. I'm using standard 150w bulbs in those silver domed cheapo worklights. The bulbs are marked bright white or something like that. They are more on the blueish side than the yellow of standard bulbs. I like them better.

Not as bright as the 500w work lights, but those worklights get HOT and I'm afraid something might catch fire.

No problem. I like the foam core as you can make your own size, but the foam core can bend and it's bulkly. I like being able to fold up the tent. What lights are you fixin to use?
