Ok new to the board...but I was googling my problem and found this board...so...Here I be LOL.

Anywho...I just got my canon EOS for christmas. I use a store bought light box for my jewlery (beaded) I have 2 100 watt bulbs...things came out clear (white with my old point and shoot) but now with the new camera it comes out orange like...what am I doing wrong? I dont have any new special lenses yet. I just haev the 18-55 it came with.

Welcome to the forum.

You have a white balance (WB) issue because of the color temperature of your lights (I assume incandescent). Check in your camera's manual about setting a custom WB or try setting your camera's WB to "tungsten" (looks like a light bulb).

I'm guessing you tried Custom White Balance & set it wrong? Try Tungsten, or Custom WB again according to the manual directions.

Hey, this is the only way to learn, if all you do is post up your best pictures, you won't learn anything, this way people can help you get it right. This is the most helpful forum community I have ever seen. Even when it sounds like people are being mean, they are usually helping.

Agree with the WB issues the others brought up, perhaps a bit underexposed also?

This thread has really inspired me.
I made a white box a few months back and I decided to pick it up and do some modifications to it.
